CARD TRICKS FOR POKER PLAYERS

• Pick one of your fellow holdem players and ask them to pick a card from the pack.
• Ask them to show the card to the other players and turn your back so you can't see it.
• Whilst your back is turned, turn the bottom card from the pack over and the pack of cards upside down so that the pack looks like its face down but it's really only the top card that is face down.
• Turn back and ask someone to place an elastic band tightly round the upturned pack. You should not let go of the pack at this stage.  If you're not confident then put the elastic band on yourself.  
• The player with the chosen card should now replace it face down into the deck.
• Now you need to turn the pack over without anyone noticing. The best way to do this is to put your hand holding the deck by your side (so the deck is now on its side). Your fellow players will probably be watching you so you need a little misdirection. Do this by simultaneously pointing to one of the players and asking them if they can perform magic (or something similar)
• Bring the pack to your other hand and pretend to square the cards up.  Ask the chosen player to twang the elastic band 3 times. 
• Take off the elastic band and fan through the cards but make sure your bottom card is always hidden. The chosen card should appear face up.

• It is important that the person replacing the chosen card into the deck doesn't place it too close to the top (and your other wrong way round card) or your opponents might notice the trick.
