 Full Tilt Poker Review

First of all, I have to admit I'm biased. Full tilt was the first poker room I started playing on and I'm still playing there.  I was hooked on full tilt the first time I saw the chimp avatar pull its funny faces.  Full tilt is a great site for the professional and new poker player alike.  As one of the largest online poker rooms, it has a great selection of tournaments and ring games and the play money games are just as busy and just as much fun as the real games. Its also the very best place to play texas holdem heads up games.

PRO's  and CON's

PRO'S

rules of holdem full tilt review

  • Screen:       Full tilt has a great looking interface that makes you want to play.  It's intuitive and easy to get to grips with. There's a great selection of avatars, more of which are being added all the time. The poker pro's on the site have their own avatars and each avatar has a choice of four expressions  (normal, happy, angry and confused).  The screen can be resized to whatever size you want, which is great as you can then happily play more than one table and size them all on your screen to watch all the action.  Not all poker rooms have this feature.
  • Network:        Unlike some other poker rooms, Full tilt is indepent of other poker networks, isn't linked to any casinos and is one of the market leaders. It uses its own software that is also suitable for macs.

  • Traffic:             Even though Full tilt is independent of the large poker networks, it has a huge number of followers and is growing daily. As such there are a large variety and number of poker tables available from 5c to $1000 bets. With 50,000 plus players logged on the options are endless (nb a proportion of these players will be play money players.)
  • Freerolls:           There are numerous freerolls runnign each day. Freerolls are either general or assigned by geographical area - the amount available to the winner of the freeroll tournament varies.  Most of the freerolls are for Texas Holdem but there are also others for Horse, Razz and Omaha.
  • Tournaments:         There's an unending supply of tournaments on Full Tilt.  As soon as one type starts another opens and generally takes only a few minutes to fill up.  Scheduled tournaments are also popular.  To help clarify the selection of tournaments, on the bottom right hand corner of the lobby, Full tilt displays a chart of tourney types, each with its own icon which is also displayed next to the tournament.  The tournament types are rebuy, rebuy addon, double stack, superstack, turbo, knockout and shootout.  The knockout tournaments allow you to win cash even if you don't  make it down the the final payouts.  As every opponent you knock out contributes a certain amount to you pot.
  • Difficulty Level:          Whilst its a great relaxed atmosphere at full tilt with great chat between the players it can be harder to win games here than other rooms as the play is just a bit tighter. If its big money your after though, then full tilt is the best place as the biggest pots are played here.
  • Bonuses:          Deposit $50 with full tilt and they will match this $100 percent with another $50. The 100% bonus applies to all deposits up to a whopping $600.  Sign up now and enter the bonus code  TEXASRULES to achieve this sign up bonus.  In addition, every game you play earns you full tilt points or FTP's. Each FTP can be used to enter more cash tournaments or used to buy goods at the full tilt store.

CON'S
  1.  Played hands:        Some other sites display the information on the last hand a little better.  Full tilt displays the last hand played at it was at the end of the game.  Some other sites displays the last hand details as a table showing who made what bet when. The same information is available at full tilt but just not in the one place.   Statistical information however is easily on  a par with all the other sites
  2. All In:           When players go all in with some game play still to pan out other sites show the percentage chance of winning. with Fulll Tilt the game play is fast and sometimes you end up having to check the last hand info to see why you won or lost.
  3. Difficulty:        As mentioned above, Full tilt players tend to play a little tighter than at some other poker rooms, however with the sheer number of players as the site, the chances of finding a few fish at a table are still pretty high.

There are no rules when it comes to chosing a poker room, just preferences, and this ones mine.
